Competitions…… free to enter!!
Potato…
• Collect potatoes from Store shed from a Committee member ( bag of 3).
• Remember to write your name and plot number on the list.
• Please take a white labelled stick to show where you’ve planted your potatoes.
• Potato dig 13th September.
Sunflower…
• Seeds available from the Store shed or you can use your own.
• Remember to write your name and plot number on the list.
• Measurement …13th September
Sunflower head to be cut and bought to the Store shed by 10.30. No head will be measured in situ.
Pumpkin…
• Use your own seeds.
• Pumpkins to be displayed and weighed at Plot Luck Supper October 14th. Remember you may need to think tactically….you’ll need to clean the pumpkin, be able to transport it to the Social club and be able to weigh it!!! The biggest isn’t necessarily the heaviest!
Floral Display/ Best Front of Plot…
This will be judged during the Late Summer show.
If you have a plot that fronts the roadway this will be automatically in the competition. If your plot doesn’t then you can enter by adding your name and plot number to the entry form in the store shed. The minimum size of the display should equate to the width of the plot by 1.2m deep and be clearly marked. Flower content should be varied.
The winner will receive a gift certificate of £20.
External Competition
This year we are taking part in Sutton Town council’s ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’. This is part of an initiative that makes up Britain in Bloom which we aim to enter next year. The idea is to clean up and green up our town. IYN (It’s Your Neighbourhood ) is free to enter and open to groups throughout the town. There are 3 core areas covered, horticulture, environment and community. More details to follow.
Certificates will be presented to the winners of the competitions at the Plot Luck Supper evening in October.
